UPDATED - Important Information for Trail Users

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has updated its posted signage and website messaging. This version reflects current conditions and available information.

March 20, 2026 
Cuyuna Lakes, MN - [March 20, 2026] - Mountain bike trails within the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area are currently closed due to seasonal freeze/thaw conditions. Overburden Road near the 128 Trailhead is also currently closed in accordance with posted DNR signage. Overburden Road and the mountain bike trails will reopen as determined by the DNR when conditions allow.

Trail users are asked to respect all posted signage and closures. For updates and additional information, please refer to the Minnesota DNR.

Signage and conditions observed in the 128 Trailhead / Overburden Road area may change over time.
