You Did It — Fast and With Impact

mountain Bike Community reaching across the US, raises funds in less than 48-hours to replace stolen equipment

When one of the Crew’s storage containers was broken into on July 8, it was more than just a loss of tools and equipment. It felt like a hit to the Crew and to our entire community. Those weed whips, backpack blowers, and hand tools are the lifeline of Cuyuna’s 70+ miles of singletrack. Without them, it’s impossible to keep our trails safe, rideable, and ready for everyone to enjoy.

In less than 48 hours, you helped us surpass our $7,000 goal to replace stolen trail equipment and improve security for our storage containers. As of 8/13/25, we have raised $8,775.

Cuyuna’s 70+ miles of singletrack are maintained entirely by volunteers and our small staff of 2 at the Cuyuna Country State DNR office. No paid trail crew. Just people with chainsaws, weed whips, and backpack blowers clearing brush, removing downed trees, and keeping the system in top shape year-round.

Here’s what your donations made possible:

  • Replaced stolen equipment: Multiple weed whips, backpack blowers, hand tools, gas cans, and helmets.

  • Security upgrades: New solar-powered trail cameras, motion-activated flood lights, and high-security locks to protect our gear going forward.

  • Extra tools: Additional hand tools to help volunteers be more efficient during trail work.

From the Bottom of Our Hearts, Thank You

Your generosity replaced the tools we lost, funded new security measures, and reminded us of what makes this place special. It is not just the trails. It is the people who care for them, protect them, and lift each other up when something knocks us down.

From every Crew member, volunteer, and trail user — thank you for proving, once again, that this community is stronger than any setback.
