The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew (Crew), a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) advises the public of the seasonal closure of the mountain bicycle trails for the upcoming MN DNR Firearms Deer Season within the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area (CCSRA).
The trail closure will commence at 12:00AM on Friday November 4th and continue through midnight on Sunday November 20th. Weather permitting; the trails will reopen at 8:00AM on Monday November 21st.
The trail closure is an annual occurrence and has been implemented since the opening of the CCSRA. The Crew takes this time to welcome another group of CCSRA users and wishes them a safe and successful hunt. The Crew also uses this time to shift gears into their winter mode as they prepare for the upcoming fat bike riding season. The Crew is very excited to use this time for training their winter grooming team on its new snow grooming equipment as they continue their focus on creating an International, year-round, family cycling destination.
The Crew reminds trail users the trail reopening on Monday, November 21st will be contingent on the freeze/thaw cycles of winter. The trails can be firm in the AM after nightly temps dip below 32 degrees. As the sun rises on the trails, they can become soft from the warmer temperatures. The Crew also reminds trail users if their tire is leaving a mark or indentation, they should refrain from riding until the surface has sufficient time to dry. As always, the current trail conditions can be found on our Crew website; http://www.cuyunalakesmtb.com/trails
